To Lofoten
Every now and then we have an opportunity to work on truly wonderful small-scale projects of personal nature, collaborating with interesting artists, photographers and other creatives. We love to embark on these intimate projects that allow us to explore the ways in which particular sensibilities intersect and supplement each other. One of such projects was the artist book "To Lofoten- Tugging at the Heartstrings" by Kristin Folsland Olsen, a tribute to Lofoten islands in Norway.

A book containing the most important information for a first-time visitor, featuring beautiful photographs by the author and accompanied by selected texts, introduces the world of the dramatic mountains and peaks, open sea and sheltered bays, beaches and untouched lands, fisheries and dispersed settlements.
Since amazing photography speaks for itself, in our approach we tried to stay undercover yet effective. Making playful connections between the notions of topography and typography, the typeface is arranged in a free form resembling the detached nature of the archipelago islands. Inspired by the Nordic simplicity and the purity of the landscape, we added a touch of red to punctuate the book’s stunning visual content.
